Discovery Place - Spiritual growth resources from Adam Hamilton

www.discovery-place.org

This month’s featured author is Adam Hamilton, pastor of Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. His studies are without a doubt the most requested resources in Discovery Place. We have twenty different studies authored or co-authored by Hamilton, plus six “seasonal” studies – three for Advent/Christmas and three for Lent/Easter. We have multiple copies of all of these in Discovery Place, and if you have never done one of his studies, you’re in for a treat.

Space won’t permit highlighting all of them, so for more complete descriptions of any title, go to our online catalog on our website, www.discovery-place. org.

Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times, published this year, offers an informed and inspiring message full of practical solutions for anyone struggling with fear, worry, or anxiety.

Moses: In the Footsteps of the Reluctant Prophet, published in 2017, helps the viewer turn reluctance into boldness through a study of the life of Moses.
Creed: What Christians Believe and Why (2016) uses the Apostle’s Creed to explore not only what Christians believe, but why it matters.

Half Truths: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn’t Say (2016): Hamilton analyzes five common Christian clichés through the lens of Scripture.

The Call: The Life and Message of the Apostle Paul (2015):
Join Adam Hamilton as you follow the journeys of Paul by traveling to the early church sites in which he ministered.

Revival: Faith As Wesley Lived It (2014): Hamilton travels to England, following the life of John Wesley and exploring the defining characteristics of a Wesleyan Christian.

Making Sense of the Bible: Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today (2014): This study invites us into an honest conversation about the Bible, focusing on the most important questions we ask about the Bible, its origins, and meaning.

Forgiveness: Finding Peace Through Letting Go (2012) Revelation comes when we realize that forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves rather than to someone else, and that only when we learn to forgive others and ourselves can we truly receive forgiveness from God.

Why? Making Sense of God’s Will (2011): Adam Hamilton brings fresh insight to the age-old question of how to understand the will of God.

This is just a sampling of Adam Hamilton’s resources that are available in Discovery Place. Check them all out by searching by author Adam Hamilton in our online catalog. You can place an order through the catalog, e-mail discovery@susumc.org, or call us at 717-766-7968.
